This made me giggle. I already had some self-serve coffee and am digging into writing book one of a new series. The first book in a brand new series always takes a minute to get a good rhythm going. There's so much to learn about the new world I'll be writing in. What's the town's name? Who are the main players? How many will there be? Who is doing what job? The constant for me is that I always write Texas and most often wealthy cattle ranching families. It helps to have an anchor. Characters usually come to me first followed by the overarching storyline, and then the rest of the details start to fill in.
